MAXIMUM ENTROPY AND THE NEARLY BLACK OBJECT

Four songs pressed into 45 RPM 7" vinyl and released by Nerve Altar. Recorded August 2014 by Joel in our Abandoned Outpost of Anhedonic Filth and Misery. Bound in a wraparound cover and including an 8-page chapbook containing astronomically correct secrets and truths. In support of this release and our general self-destructive bent, we will play the following shows with several of our friends:
  • FEB 19 - Cleveland, OH w/ KEELHAUL & Nyodene D at Now That's Class
  • FEB 20 - Indianapolis, IN w/ Corpuscide, more at 5th Quarter Lounge
  • FEB 21 - Chicago, IL Two-Piece Fest at ChiTown Futbol
  • FEB 22 - Buffalo, NY w/ Gas Chamber, Black Iron Prison at Black Dots (matinee)
  • MAY 16 - NYC w/ Full of Hell, The Body at ABC No Rio (matinee)
We will be restocked with tshirts and copies of both of our LPs. Accompanying us on our journey will be Nerve Altar and all of his releases. And of course, everything is available for mailorder should you not make any of the shows.

The Terminal Zone

Brief summary of current activities:

Weekend out with our Brooklyn instrumental friends Thurn & Taxis in these locations:

Friday 10/17 in Albany, NY at Low Beat
Saturday 10/18 in Ithaca, NY at Just Be Cause (matinee)
Sunday 10/19 in Plattsburgh, NY at ROTA Gallery

Thanks to everyone who helped pull these shows together.

The four new songs we recorded in our former practice space (August 2014) will see imminent release as a 7" on the mighty Nerve Altar. Artwork and mastering are currently underway. Thank you Aaron.

Interview with Andrew Hernandez II Twin Lords/ Tombs for Ithaca Underground posted. Thank you Andrew.

And as we still have copies of the first and third LPs available, here is a kind review from Shane in a recent issue of Decibel.
This bass and drum instrumental duo, the former rhythm section of Anodyne (which has been extinguished for almost a decade... Jesus), are a spastic, time-signature-sodomizing, M.C. Escher painting of a band. Over the course of six tracks, they grind, groove, and warp rhythms into something that's intimidating and endlessly fascinating. Buy this and whatever else they'll sell you.
Thank you Shane.

And thanks to you for reading.

Covers and vinyl for Falling to Death Through Time and Space are at their respective factories. We will have the completed units by the time we leave for our shows with Triac, which are as follows:

Come out and say hello, we don't do this nearly as often as we should. Records will be available for mailorder when we return, should you like one. Thanks to everyone who helped set up these shows, and all the bands for agreeing to play.

The usual plug re: Shirts and LPs. We have a new design that we believe is quite handsome. We will be selling them at shows and as always, they are available via mail.

The Persistence of Structures Favoring Death

1. New song "Missionary" has been posted to Bandcamp.  It's from the eventual second record Mythologies.

2. Our next appearance, as the flyer above so scatologically proclaims, is Thursday August 16 with Misery Index, TRIAC, Amputee, and Strong Intention at St. Vitus.

Thursday

No black metal.  No thrash.  No death metal throwback.  No groove.  No power electronics.  No bounce. No new wave.  No doom. No stonerisms.  No neofolk.  No shoegaze.  No MoMAcore.  Nothing cool.  Mathematics and physics and headaches and staring problems and some grindcore.  We will be at St. Vitus with California's Wake the Machines, New York's Communion, and Brooklyn's Grudges.  June 28th, 2012.  You'll likely recognize this date as the Death reunion show.  That'll be weird.

TShirts

We finally got our act together enough to make shirts, or at least to pay someone to make them for us. Fancy silver ink on black Gildan shirts. We sell them for $10 at shows, or if you'd like to mailorder one, throw in an extra $2 for shipping (paypal address to the right).

Our recent string of shows went well. Thank you to everyone who helped set them up, and to all those who came out. Oh, and also to the lonely Policeman who thought our volume was too high for the forest.

Bruar Falls Must be Creepy Crawled

The first few times I saw Vaz, they were a two-piece. Xaddax is also a two-piece, as we obviously are. I've never seen Fall of Another Day, but I'm praying to Max Planck that they maintain this binary structure (though admittedly Vaz eventually drifted into the higher number game). I have heard this show is free, and I hope that's true if it will lure you out.

Details:

January 26, 2011 8PM
Vaz/ Xaddax/ Radiation Blackbody/ Fall of Another Day
Bruar Falls, Grand Street, Brooklyn

Near Taco Chulo and Spuyten Duyvil, so burritos and Belgian ales before and after.
